Updating slides

Hi all,

I've created a presentation in V2002 and require to play it on a machine
with an earlier version. This has meant that I've lost some of the slide
animation, i.e. fading out of text and pictures etc. I was therefore going
to use PP Viewer 2003.

However, there are two slides, each with a table, in the presentation that
require updating each time the presentation is given. I understand that the
PP viewer does not allow you to updates slides directly or through a link to
say Excel.

Is there anyway I can have all my cake and eat it? Without giving my
computer to the company.

In anticipation

Hi Paul,

From only within PowerPoint Viewer 2003 and keeping within the PowerPoint
presentation, No. However you can include links in your presentation that
take you outside of the control of the PowerPoint Viewer (you will receive
a security warning anytime you link to non-PowerPoint content from within
PowerPoint Viewer 2003).

For example, you can include a hyperlink to a web page (for example) that
includes an Office datasheet web part which is linked to your Excel
workbook an when the page is loaded into the customer browser it should be
refreshed to show the latest information (you might want to ask the
question in the Excel newsgroups about how this web part works).

If you (or anyone else reading this message) think that it is important to
have presentations update dynamically and/or when viewed in the PowerPoint
Viewer, don't forget to send your feedback to Microsoft at:

As with all product suggestions, it's important that you not just state
your wish but also why it is important to you that your product suggestion
be implemented by Microsoft. Microsoft receives thousands of product
suggestions every day and we read each one but, in any given product
development cycle, there are only sufficient resources to address the ones
that are most important to our customers so take the extra time to state
your case as clearly and completely as possible.

IMPORTANT: Each submission should be a single suggestion (not a list of
suggestions)
