Updating Records in a Linked Table

I have a reference table that contains 28K records. When
I run an update query to update from this table to a table
that I am linked to, I get a message that 0 records will
be updated.

However, if I reduce the reference table to 10K, it runs
fine and updates 10K records in the linked table.

Can someone please tell me if there is a maximum number of
records that can be updated at one time?

There is no practical limit.

You may have some corrupt data above your 10k limit.
