I have installed PowerPoint 2000 with Office XP Small Business. (I am using Windows XP Professional).
Just had a crash with PP and the Online Crash Analysis directed me to the update site which recommended the following updates: Office 2000 Service Release 1a, Service Pack 3 and the Office 2000 Security Patch: KB822035
Can accepting and installing these effect the Office XP SB installation?
Is there anything I need to do first? (in addition, I suppose, to creating "Restore Points")
Thanks in advance.

It is possible that the official MS take on this is different, but I
tend to install the oldest systems first. So, once I install 2002 I am
loath to install anything related to 97 or 2000.

If I absolutely had to, I would install the 2000 updates, then use the
'Detect and Repair' feature within 2002. Alternatively, after updating
2000, run the XP installation program and pick the 'Reinstall
everything installed so far' (or some such) option. As an even more
time-consuming but potentially safer alternative, uninstall 2002,
reinstall 2000, update 2000, and reinstall 2002.
