updating networked displays

I would like to run a show in PowerPoint which, when advanced, would advance
the same presentation on a number of networked PCs.

The purpose is to feed (from a central location) informational signage to
plasma screens at an exhibition - where, because of the distances involved,
only CAT5 cable can be used to connect between the locations of the
networked PCs (with plasma displays attached).

Any help - or pointers to other resources, would be welcomed.

Regards,

Thanks,

I will give it a look. Do you know if this will allow the same full screen
PowerPoint display on each PC simultaneously?

Relatively simultaneously in the environment that you discribed. You'll
want to make sure that all PCs are set at the same resolution, though.

Hello,

An earlier version of PowerPoint (PowerPoint 97) had the Presentation
Conferencing feature which sounds very much like what you are asking for
(each computer would also need to be running PowerPoint 97). However, the
latest versions of PowerPoint do not have this "remoted" presentation
capability, and, although there are workarounds (NetMeeting using the
"Tools -> Online Collaboration -> Meet Now" command), neither may give you
exactly what you are looking for either in capabilities or ease of use.

If you (or anyone else reading this message) have suggestions for improving
the remoted presentation experience in PowerPoint, don't forget to send
your feedback (in YOUR OWN WORDS, please) to Microsoft at:

http://register.microsoft.com/mswish/suggestion.asp

It's VERY important that, for EACH wish, you describe in detail, WHY it is
important TO YOU that your product suggestion be implemented. A good wish
submssion includes WHAT scenario, work-flow, or end-result is blocked by
not having a specific feature, HOW MUCH time and effort ($$$) is spent
working around a specific limitation of the current product, etc. Remember
that Microsoft receives THOUSANDS of product suggestions every day and we
read each one but, in any given product development cycle, there are ONLY
sufficient resources to address the ones that are MOST IMPORTANT to our
customers so take the extra time to state your case as CLEARLY and
COMPLETELY as possible so that we can FEEL YOUR PAIN.

IMPORTANT: Each submission should be a single suggestion (not a list of
suggestions).
