Hello,

I'm trying to update some pull-down lists on a custom contact form I
distributed to several users across the country (we are using .ost
files). Since no field names will change and I don't want to update
download programming (within Access), I plan to update their form
template with the same name/Message Class, but a different version
number. The process below worked on my own remote machine, but I'm
not sure as the developer it is the exact same set-up as they have in
the field. The Steps:

1.) Publish the updated form in their Contacts folder on the server
(I have access through the "open additional mailboxes" function).
2.) Have them connect to the Exchange Server.
3.) Have them clear the forms cache.
4.) Have them open an existing contact (should get the "installing on
this machine" message at this point), and test the updated pull-downs.
5.) If above is OK, have them exit Outlook, disconnect from server,
and test again off-line.

I'm not sure if the synchronize Forms switch needs to be on for
this...since I think it is not the default set-up, I don't think a lot
of them have it and I don't want to make them switch it if they don't
need to. Any comments would be appreciated. Thanks, Brad.

That should work. You might also want to give them a copy of the .oft file
backup of the form with instructions on how to publish it without connecting
to the Exchange Server.

Thanks for your reply, Sue. - I usually send out the .oft file via
EMail so they have it in case I need them to use it anyway...so that's
a good suggestion.

Thanks again, Brad.
