Hi;
I can use some friendly advice if possible;
I've never updated the chipset drivers on my Asus P4C800-e deluxe mobo and
to get things up to date as of now I need to do so.
The chipset is an Intel 875P. I have downloaded and run the executable
driver file for this chipset on the Intel site which is as follows; INF
Upgrade Utility [INFINST_AUTOL.exe].
The question is; is this the actual chipset upgrade or is this file some
kind of utility that I have to find in explorer and execute from there?
What's puzzling is that the file installs a folder named INTEL on the drive
with nothing in it but a readme. The readme this file installs on the HDD is
the only file there and it gives a long and detailed instruction list on 3
different ways to install the update????
Can someone shed some light on all this for me. I want to understand it a
bit better. Right now I'm not sure exactly what this executable has done?
Many thanks
Dudley
