Updating appointment loses attendees

Using Outlook 2002 SP2. This is occurring for one user.
When date is changed for appointment, and updates are
sent to attendees, the attendee list goes blank, except
for the organizer. No updates are actually sent.
 
Have you run Detect and Repair on this one machine?

Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact. Due to
the (insert latest virus name here) virus, all mail sent to my personal
account will be deleted without reading.

After searching google.groups.com and finding no answer, Russell asked:
