I don't know if anyone has addressed this issue for
corporate users of AntiSpyware, but if your network has a
secure firewall that requires authentication to access the
internet then updates will not work. I have been able to
work around the problem manually, but contacting another
web site that requires me to authenticate to my firewall
and then running a manual update for MS AntiSpyware beta,
but I want it to be automated. The worst part is that it
doesn't complain that it couldn't update it just acts like
there weren't any updates available.
Anybody know if Microsoft has contemplated something to
allow a network administrator to download the updates and
then push them out in the corporate intranet? Something
like what is done with windows updates via SUS or WUS?
This is going to be a necessity if they want to get the
corporate business.
