It is more often the rule that when I download updates, I end up with a
problem. 4 months ago, I was using W-98 and downloaded seven updates. The
result was having to re-install 98 as the hard drives were wiped clean after
I restarted the computer. I have had a new Dell with XP for 3 months now.
Twice, I have had to use system restore after downloading patches to get rid
of them. The most recent was the latest cumulative patch, {KB824145}, just
two days ago. It left me without the use of my Block/Edit/Allow, cookie
function in Internet Tools. Is MS trying to make things better, or just make
us crazy?

Most people are downloading these updates without any problems at all. I
have had no trouble with my Windows XP system and I download each and every
update as soon as they are released through Windows Update. The patches can
be removed by going to the Add/Remove Windows Components applet. Some of
the patches may not be removable now that I think about it, but most of them
are. You should absolutely not have to restore your Dell this soon. There
may be some other problem with your system. As for Microsoft making things
better, I'm not totally convinced of that just yet. But making us crazy?
Oh yeah!

Microsoft has started to release updates on second
tuesday of month so put this date on calendar.

Might just check updates every saturday morning in case
special updates are released.

With this new scroll problem microsoft might be forced to
do a special update soon.
