After defragmenting my computer and cleaning my hard drive. Internet
Explorer will not update. I get the message "software update incomplete." I
have tried everything listed on the IE web page. Any ideas?

Thanks for the reply. However, I already have tried all of the suggestions
contained on the page you linked to me. Do you know of any other possible
solution?

I looked on the page you linked. Although I see a link to a page explaining
the problem of Software Update Incomplete, it is for Windows XP and Windows
2000. However, I use Windows 98. I don't see anything else on that page
which specifically references the message I am receiving

What exactly did you "clean" ?

Sorry, I didn't see where the suggestions applied to Windows 98. I'll try
those steps. Thank's for the info.

Also, by "cleaned my hard drive," I mean a few things. I should have been
more specific. I ran a program to detect and remove spyware, scanned my hard
drive for errors (correcting each) and defragmented my hard drive.
