L *~~Laughingstar~~* Aug 16, 2008 #2 (I had to stop my Updates on the Microsoft.com website and ran a check from there. Happened to me, too...mine were all installed but the 'shield' kept coming back up in my sys tray -- most likely caused by one of the Update! grrrrr).
