Firstly it seems you have 2 operating systems
To quote you :> "I have a laptop windows xp." (then you
wrote) "p.s. I have a microsoft 2000." .....alrighty!
Begin by downloading the SP1 service pack then reboot
your system then go back to windows update and re-check
for updates. This will lessen the amount of updates
because the service pack will contain some of the smaller
patches.
Some patches can only be downloaded and installed one at
a time, but look carefully, they usally mention this
somewhere on the page.
Put the Kettle on and begin at sunrise on Saturday
morning and tell the rest of the Family to leave the
premises, cause you are gonna get a little tempermental
today.
I should point out that you will not need all of the
language patches found towards the bottom.
I am not sure how you originally got to Windows Update
but nexy time, have only your internet browser running
and go to "tools" then choose "Windows Update".
Also, whilst on the Web page look in the left column to
see what is already installed. This option is not always
available depending which page you are on at the time it
may appear greyed out.
goodluck with the updates!
