Using XP Pro with SP2. Updated XP & Office XP only a few days ago.
Downloaded and installed latest MS security updates today. I think it was
around 8 totalling 6.5MB. Asked to reboot after installation. Did so and
it rebooted in standard VGA mode. It wouldn't let me do anything else,
appeared permanently busy. Couldn't get to System Restore, Last known good
configuration, Safe Mode or anything else.
Luckily I had an image from only a few days ago using Acronis True Image and
I was able to boot from the Acronis CD and restore that image.
Why do these so called critical updates cause so many problems for so many
people?
