updates will not install

Here is what is not installing:
Security Update for Office XP (KB920821)
Security Update for Office XP (KB921567)
Security Update for SharePoint Team Services (KB911701) Security Update for
Publisher 2002 (KB894541) Security Update for Office XP (KB914796)

I have tried turning all anti-virus, firewall, and sypware software off, but
it just comes back and says "Updates were unable to be successfully
installed."
 
There can be numerous reasons that updates fail. First make sure you are
logged on as an administrator if you are not sure that you are. Then I would
also crosspost in the Microsoft.public.windowsupdate and
Microsoft.public.officeupdate. Those newsgroups are dedicated to such
problems. The link below may help as can info in the Windowsupdate.log file
in the \Windows folder and any .log files that include the KB name such as
KB920821.log if shown on your computer though the info may be difficult to
interpret for the average user but experts in those newgroups may be able to
help with that information.

I believe that office updates require that the original CD be in the CD
reader when updating.

I've had similar problems with these updates and solved them by the above
solution.
