I had four. Publisher 2003, Outlook Junk Mail Filter,
Broadcom Network adaptor, and the scary one
ATI Mobility 9600/9700 update.

The one for ATI was only 4MB. The screen
flickered during install and didn't require a reboot.
Don't know what it did but all seems well.

Thanks I got the Broadcom wireless adaptor one.
Didn't seem to change anything though.

Okay, this is strange.

I checked Update and it said one optional update was available. Radion X700
driver.

I closed Update and finished what I was doing, when I returned it no longer
shows the driver update, in fact, it now shows Windows is up to date.

I checked under hidden updates, restarted, no joy.

I'm stumped.

And no, my driver is still showing the older version.

Maybe in that short time of closing the update window the driver was
actually removed from available updates?

That was my thought too, amazing timing though as I'd only closed the window
for about 30 seconds. (Force of habit, closing windows that I don't need to
do whatever it is I'm doing at the moment.)

After opening the window again did you check for new updates again?

Sorry if it was a silly question, but you never know :-)

I'd rather ask a silly question than not, then find the silly question
wasn't so silly later.

Case in point, "Are the speakers plugged in?"
"Of course they are . . ."
"Are they plugged into the correct jack?"
"Of course they . . . uh . . . well how about that, the sound works now!"
