Hello everyone - happy new year.

I am a new user who has upgraded to XP Home. I use dial up connection to the
internet, and do not have broadband.

When I clicked on the Windows Update, I received so many files I was
supposed to download in order to Critically Update my system that it would
take forever.

Can I just buy these or get these off Microsoft on a CD?
Advise would be appreciated. I have SP1, but according to Update this
apparently is out of date!
many thanks.

Install the SP1, It is old, but not out-dated and you will find the
number of patches decreases significantly in the Windows Update
afterwards.

No purchasable cd is available, but if you go to update, select, personaliz
update and select, show update catalog. You can go to the catalog and downloa
the same updates and transfer to a cd,this way you have the majority of the
on cd.Also, try updating at a slow time on the internet,it'll speed things up.
