Autumn

I have a couple of questions.
I had been getting notifications of updates when I logged
on. Lately, I have been having to go directly to windows
update and check for new updates (like today, there were
2 critical updates) How can I get the automatic
nofication to work?
Also, I have a run dll that gives me an error when I log
on. It looks like it came from an old program that never
loaded correctly and did not work properly. How can I go
in and get the dll to pop up every time I log onto the pc?
Thanks
Autumn

weekly manual updates are too much trouble?
are you really that lazy?
it does not take that much time if you do it weekly.
when you start the update do something else...read book!
surely you have 10 minutes a WEEK when you are not doing
anything? saturday morning during breakfast?
excuse me...i am going to do the weekly update...bye!

wow! automatic updates no working?
let me ask a question.
do you set down very often and pay bills (electric, car
payment, etc) and then mail-in or use on-line payments?
you do?
well why not use AUTOMATIC bill payments for electric,
car payment, etc?

Hi Autumn,

Start/run services.msc, double click the Automatic Update service, start the
service and set the startup type to automatic. Click apply/ok and reboot.
Then go to the control panel/system/Windows Update tab and set it to your
liking, you may need to reboot once more.

For the other problem, start/run msinfo32, expand the software environment
and click on the startup programs. Look for the line that references the old
program and make note of where it is loading from. This is where you need to
go to remove the reference. If you are unsure of what to do, please post
back with the referenced information for further instructions.
