Updates faile to install

MS Automatic Update has downloaded a whole buch of updates, but I
cannot get any of them to install, either singly or at shutdown. It
looks like one of them might just cure my persistent junk mail problem,
if only I could get XP Pro to take it on board. Anyone any ideas?
