when I try to get my updates it either does not load or hangs at 33% ant suggestions?
 
troubleshoot does not help However this worked for m

Got it...under my LAN Settings I had "Automatically Detect Settings"...

What this had to do with anything, I don't know, but I remembered that my connection
was always quicker with it unchecked, and when I looked in the options, it was checked

Windows Update seems to be working fine now
