We regret the confusion, there's been a naming mixup over the version of
Windows Defender that we posted over the last two days. We should have it
fixed on the download center shortly.

This update (that applies to all languages) is the same version of all bits
that were there before (1593) with the exception of a newer MpEngine.dll
(2204). If you have Windows Defender installed already and are getting
definition and engine updates, you have no need to install this new
download.

The version of Windows Defender in Vista (1505) is unaffected, and remains
the up-to-date version.

Thanks for using Windows Defender,
Joe

Thanks Joe for ending the confusion, BTW, the engine version 2204 has been
out for a little while now, I don't remember exactly but it was 2 or 3 weeks
I believe.
Thanks Rod

I think I might have created more confusion, What I meant was that those of
us that already had version 1593 installed got the newer engine version 2204
2 or 3 weeks ago along with defintions updates but the version 1593 that is
at the download center just got the new engine version 2204. I think I have
it correct now,. Sorry if I created more confusion. :)

Robin pat your self on the back , you deserve it thanks. Ron
BTW- Tim i was right behind you, Good looking out
(I sensed there was something wrong)
