Updated Guide Plus Today and it said Invalid Key while sorting the listings ... Does anyone know how

Hello,

I updated Guide Plus today and it said 'Invalid Key' while updating the
Program Listings and then crashed. Now it crashes shortly after the splash
screen comes up ('Loading configuration' is the last message before it exits
or 'crashes') and before loading the main screen. I've rebooted a few times
.... I've even tried deleting the files in the db folder (and then restored
them when it didn't work).

I don't want to loose all the custom configurations (custom searches) I've
done if possible. So I'm looking for any help or hints on how GuidePlus
works so that I can get it working short of a fresh install.

wait for a updated download...24hrs if none,,then worry about the reinstall if it comes to that..
 
Try running the update program again, then open Guide Puss and see if it
will get a valid listing. If it comes up with the Invalid message again then
try a second time to get the listings without shutting down the guide.

This is the first time in a couple years the program has screwed up for
me, as I updated the listings today. I get the exact errors described
in...

At first I was wondering if its me, tho I doubt it now.
reinstalling G+ isnt much more than a PITA

I've had this before, about a year ago... I think the absolute only thing
you can do is uninstalled and reinstall, thereby losing any custom settings.
I recall at the time my system did NOT want to run the latest version - the
one on the CD installed and worked perfectly, but if I did a live update and
downloaded the guide I would have the same problem as you and could do
nothing except uninstall.

To be honest I haven't even tried updating Guide Plus since then.
