Where can I get them?
I would like to control the FW/ICS settings through the GPO but I'm not
seeing any options on my Win2000 and Win2003 Domain Controllers.

Hi

Note that your question would be better asked in the
microsoft.public.windows.group_policy newsgroup.

See here for information about the new .adm files:

Note that you will not be able to edit some of the Firewall GPO
configurations from Windows 2000, use Windows XP or Windows Server
2003 for this, more about this here:

Excuse my ignorance but what am I supposed to do with the spreadsheet? Why
doesn't MS basically allow people to download the latest ADM files?

Hi

Please read the thread in my first link in my other post in
this thread...

To load ADM files in GPEdit:
Start Group Policy.
1. Start | Run | Type: Gpedit.msc | OK
2. Right-click Administrative Templates, and then click Add/Remove
Templates.
Note: Administrative Templates are available under either Computer or User
Configuration.
3. Click Add.
4. Click an ADM file, and then click Open.
5. Click Close.
6. The custom ADM file policy settings are now available in GPEdit.

I'm aware of how to load ADM files.
Obtaining them is another story. How do I extract the settings from an XLS
to a ADM?

Thanks!

Hi

You can't do that...

Am I totally missing something here?

If you install XP SP2 you get the new Administrative Templates as described
in the xls file here >>>>>>>

[[This spreadsheet lists the full set of Group Policy settings described in
Administrative Template (.adm) files shipped with Windows Professional
Service Pack 2.]]
Group Policy Settings Reference for .adm files included with Windows XP
Professional Service Pack 2

Fritz,

I had assumed, which was a mistake, that you already had the XP SP2 update.
If you want the new Administrative Templates, either install XP SP2 or find
someone who already has and copy the new .adm files from them.

My question was about domain GPs. How do I load the SP2 templates to my
Domain Controllers so I can control the firewall settings on the clients
through the domain-wide GPO?
