Updated download has caused a problem

On Wed Oct 15, I downloaded an update to my Windows Home XP, I believe it involved a system32 dll, since then I cannot access my yahoo mail or messenger, or any site like iqvc or amazon, even microsoft, btw I am typing this on a friends computer, I am able to get to my outlook mail, reg yahoo, and ebay, any suggestions? Please email (e-mail address removed) ... thanks, Ray
 
try to remove through add/remove, if not use restore.
