I have an AOL customized IE6, but I am not currently using AOL, so I'd
like to remove most of the unnecessary customization.
I noticed that in the Win2K Registry there is
Update_Check_Page=http://www.aol.com
in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main

Can I remove that registry key, or should I change the Aol address to
Microsoft's?

TIA

Hi,

There is a registry setting that clears branding. I suppose it will take
care of that one. I've put a little batch file and some info on

Thanks Hans,

that batch file does actually restore the original MS IE spinning logo
and program name, yet seems not to affect that "Update_check_page"
thing.
Besides, it seems to restore some values from the iereset.inf
configuration, which was AOL customized as well (well, before I changed
that.. ;)
