I have none of the problems I have seen other people posting about with
Windows update. However, on my W2K Server, after getting updates, it goes
to the "Inspecting your current configuration" screen, and just hangs there,
I've left it for days, it never gets any farther. I thought it must be a
problem with the Windows Installer, went and got an updated version of
installer, still no dice, unable to install any hotfixes or SP's. Any help
anyone can offer would be greatly appreciated, I have been unable to update
this server since June. I realize that a re-install of the OS would
probably fix this, but this is the sole remaining DC in what used to be a 2
DC domain, if I blow this away, I will have to rebuild all my AD stuff,
would rather fix it. Also, I don't know if this is related or not, but the
Application Management service will not start on this server. BTW, I have
tried downloading the hotfixes, SP's etc. and running them local instead of
running them from Windows update with the same result. I'm stuck!
