Update table via command button

Hi

I have a form with a number of fields on it. I also have 2 command buttons,
when the user hits either one the command button, I would like a field in
one of the tables to be updated with a number. However, I do not wish that
this field be displayed on the main form.

Can this be set in the properties of the command button or an update
statement?

Any ideas?
 
I would add the field to my form but make it invisible. Then the sql behind
the button's onclick property would simply be...


me.SomeFieldName=1
