I am now running WIN XP Home SP1. There are 2 conflicting statements on the
Microsoft site. In one place it says: "Before you install SP2, get your
version of Windows completely up-to-date with the latest performance and
security updates. Go to the Microsoft Update, click Express Install, and then
install all high priority updates listed." Here is the conflict: At the
Microsoft Update window, it lists SP2 at the top of the page. (This is under
the Custom selection) Under SP2 it says: "These updates must be installed
separately.
Updates listed here (SP2) can have system-wide effects or address more than
one problem. It's a good idea to install them now and then check again,
starting from the Home page, for remaining updates." In the first instance
they are saying to completely update SP1 before installing SP2. Then they say
to install SP2 before returning to install the remaining updates.
Which is the right answer? Thanks in advance for any help.
