update roll back unsuccessful

I am attempting to roll back update KB941644 because at about the time I
installed it, I was no longer able to receive emails or get on the internet.
I have tried all other fixes mentioned in the XP Networking and the Web
newsgroup to no avail.

I used the removal wizard in Add/Remove Programs. After a minute, I got the
error message "The handle is invalid" and the update removal was aborted.

Suggestions? Thanks!
 
Thanks. System Restore didn't take me back to the update in question (Jan09).
Farthest back was Apr09

Here is a link that describes a method to uninstall a hotfix.

The thought makes me nervous and I read about the dangers in
uninstalling things in the wrong order so you may just aggravate your
problem and digging yourself a deeper hole.

There are several hits when you do a Google search for at least part
of your message. Is that at the entire message?

It may be wiser to try to figure out why you cannot get on the
Internet and fix that instead.

In order to figure out that problem, you would have to provide more
details... or you will just get guesses and ideas that might work
(like mine), things to try, maybe this will do it, etc.
