I had problems with my Windows XP update in September.
The updates would download but not install. After much
back and forth Microsoft sent me two (2) links that let
me do the updates. Now the same problem in October, but I
am not getting a response from Microsoft (sigh). I have
disabled all my protections (Norton, etc.), but no luck.
Any suggestions?

Windows Update Is Not Installed

This issue may occur if you use the AOL Web browser interface to access and
download Windows Updates. The AOL Web browser does not communicate properly
with the Windows Installer software, and this may cause Windows Installer to
stop responding.

Thank you for your response. I have already tried the
links you suggested. I am not having trouble with the
download (at least I don't think I am) because the
message says the download is complete and it is preparing
to install the updates. I am not using AOL. I have
disabled protection software when trying to update. Any
other suggestions?
