Update Problem

I have Microsoft AntiSpyware Version 1.0.615 installed.
When I try to update it from Spyware Definition Version
5729, it downloads and states it is updated to version
5737. However, it actually doesn't seem to be updated
from version 5729 as every time I attempt updates, it
states it is still updating from version 5729. I even
downloaded and reinstalled the latest version of Microsoft
AntiSpyware. This problem persists, so I wonder whether I
will ever be able to install the new definitions? I
notice others are experiencing similar problems with the
definitions updates.
 
try downloading 615 here

save it to disk. it should update when run, otherwise shut
MSAS down and uninstall it. The delete the MS Antispyware
folder in C:/Windows/programs and then do a clean install.
The 615 file is 6.54 MB.

are people from Microsoft that read this group they must
know there is a problem with update ?

You must empty your Temporary Internet Files (or any other web cache) before
attempting a definitions update.
 
I have the same problem.
checking the Explorer for the new antispyware, Ido not
find the .exe file. Can anyone explain?
 
There are a number of possible problems with updating. One systematic
problem with build .614 was fixed with build .615.

Microsoft does monitor these groups, and are aware of the issues.
