Update problem...

Hi,
I'm having trouble updating Windows. Every time I
attempt to update, I receive the error message:
0x800C0005; which doesn't relate to anything on the
Windows Help page. But there is something when I look
on "Search Microsoft.com - though it's nothing to do
with this problem!!
I called my PC Manufacturer - as instructed, and they
told me it was a web page fault; though this has been a
problem for some weeks now...
I don't know if the problems are related, but since I've
been unable to "update", my internet security package and
anti-virus program haven't been working properly. I know
I don't have a virus, as I can manually run the virus
check and it comes back fine.
Any help as to why I can't update would be appreciated.

A check at
http://www.saferpay.com/help/WebHelp/Programmers_Reference/Error_Codes.htm

shows 0x800C0005 as 'URL resource not found' which could
possibly be a web page fault. When you try to get updates
do you go to

http://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/en/default.asp

You can't get to this page unless you use IE - other
browsers (e.g., Mozilla) won't work.

Hope this helps - can't think of anything else.
