Hi Again, Try Safe mode like Jupiter Jones suggests
(Reboot and keep tapping F8 and choose safe mode from the
list) Then when you get in safe mode Goto Add/Remove
Screen and try to remove this update patch,
My first thought is this was possibly a virus or other
form of malware especially with you saying its using the
MS Antispy icon in Add/Remove and in your earlier post
you said you couldnt activate some of your system
checkpoints for real time protection.
If this is in a folder or you know what the file was
called that installed the Update patch, right click the
file or folder and choose "Send To" then choose compressed
(zipped) folder and send it to my email address, Check
C:/drive Program Files for this update folder as it may
of installed itself into there.
With you saying it was a MSAS pop up asking you if you
wanted to update it makes it sound like a genuine update
but Ive not heard of a patch that uses the MSAS icon and
gets installed in the add/remove screen so Id like to
know exactly what this is.
Try removing this patch from Add/Remove Screen then use
Ccleaner to remove the temp and usused files off your
system

If you still have problems, download Hijack This and save
it to your desktop or C:drive and choose "System scan and
save logfile" when its finished scanning it will produce
a log in notepad, post that back as it may show if you
have malware running on your system but dont fix anything
with hijack this as most entries will be harmless or
essential, its a good start though to get a better idea
to whats causing you problems.

Go with Jupiter Jones comments first as you may be able
to remove this from Add/Remove in safe mode then on the
MSAS line you will see "Click Here for Support info"
click this then choose repair but if you do not have this
option your best removing MSAS as well as the patch and
downloading MS Antispy again once you get clean.
