! Update Patch installs but doesn't show up ???

I've installed the July Cumulative IE6 update patch. Installation goes
fine. But the patch apparently has not been applied. I can't find it in
the log, add/remove programs, as an $invisible file, or in the registry.

I'm using XP Home. IE 6. What should I do?
 
There ain't no July '03 Cumulative Update for IE, Fishie!

Did "Microsoft Security" send it to you in an email attachment? Well, it
weren't from MS.

I hope you've got a good anti-virus application, update definitions several
times a week and run a full system scan after doing so. If not, your system
may be sleeping with the < : )))) >< 's soon.

I got it from Windows Update date. I made a mistake about the month of the
update. It is #818529. And I've installed it and can't find any indication
anywhere that it has actually been installed! Nothing in add/remove,
nothing in Windows/$NTblahblah, nothing in Registry.
 
FOUND IT! It shows in the registry under ieupdate -- and it is in
add/remove -- under IE, not under the windows updates.

Sorry for leading you guys down the wrong path.
