I keep getting a critical update message to download
Critical Update Patch #823599 in IE 6.0. I've updated this
four times already in the past four days. After each
download it says the update was successful. Is this the
same update each time, or are they additions to the first
#826599 update? Thank you.

Are you running Windows Server 2003?

In Windows Update newsgroup, MVP "Mow Green" recently wrote
<paste>
the fixed patch for the installation and detection issues is
scheduled to be on Windows Update 9/10. Please wait until then to obtain it.
</paste>

If you've reinstalled Q823559 in the past four days, we must assume it
hasn't been patched yet.

I am running Windows 98 on a pc. I'm not sure what you
mean by Windows Server 2003. Since the patch hasn't been
fixed yet, I just need to ignore the critical update
notifications, right? Thank you for your help.

Sorry, you're referring to Security Bulletin MS03-023
(http://www.microsoft.com/technet/treeview/?url=/technet/security/bulletin/M
S03-023.asp). I was look at another KB article after making a typo.

AFAIK, as long as Windows Update.log indicates no problem with prior
installs of this update, yes, just ignore it for now.
