Nvu
http://www.nvu.com/
Finally!
A complete Web Authoring System for Linux Desktop users
as well as Microsoft Windows users to rival programs like
FrontPage and Dreamweaver.
Nvu (pronounced N-view, for a "new view") makes managing
a web site a snap. Now anyone can create web pages and
manage a website with no technical expertise or knowledge
of HTML.
Version 0.40 - August 10, 2004
Change Log
-based on Mozilla 1.7
-horizontal and vertical rulers allowing to resize all
element with the mouse, including table columns and rows
-command line argument "nvu -edit <url>" is now accepted
and functional
-HTML validator menu entry was not correctly calling an
external browser to display W3C's validator. This is now
fixed and the result is shown inside Nvu itself.
-contextual menu on tabs allowing to close a tab or close
all other tabs
-it's now possible to create tables w/o default vertical
or horizontal alignment
-window title was not updated when switching between two
tabs, this is now fixed
-context-click on a toolbar now allows to customize the
toolbar, like in Firefox and Thunderbird
-setting image size through Image Properties dialog was
not working, this is now fixed
-switching between two tabs was losing the selection,
this is now fixed
-new About dialog, à la Firefox and Thunderbird
-Document Inspector
Known Issues
-from time to time, Document Inspector does not list Nvu
windows... No idea why. If that happens to you and you
really need Document Inspector, open it from Nvu, then
close your Nvu window, and open a new Nvu window selecting
Window > Composer in Document Inspector. That's certainly
a bit of a hack, but that's useful...
