update KB840315 will not instrall

Install halts approx 30% mark; this error msg appears; the software you qre instaling has not passed Windows Logo testing to verify its compatability with Windows XP. This software will not be installed.
Same problem and same error msg with KB841873 and KB839645.
How can this be as these downloads are auto upates from Microsoft??

Start with Method 4 on this page :
You cannot install some updates or programs
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=822798

If no joy, go back and start with Method 1 .

I selected and downloded 4 files via auto update
KB839645, KB841872, KB840315 all WIN XP security fixes. Aso KB823353 for OE6 SP1
None of them would instal the first time, on retry KB823353 INSTALLED ok.
i have tried 3 times since to instal the other 3 to no avail.
Seems odd that one of four dowloaded insta;lled OK but 3 did not.
Does that change anything?

Not really. Give the suggested Methods a go. It's Windows, one day
it works, the next day ...
