After installing this update my machine bluescreened
shortly after windows loaded far enough to where the GUI
came up. The error was tracked to ntoskrnl.exe which was a
file that was replaced during this update. Safe-mode
wouldn't allow access, I was LOCKED OUT. MICROSOFT SHOULD
TAKE DOWN THIS OBVIOUSLY FLAWED UPDATE AND SAVE PEOPLE
FROM WASTING THEIR TIME AND BEING FRUSTRATED. MAKE IT
WORK, THEN MAKE IT PUBLIC.
Thanks to a poster on this bored i was able to recover
from this. If you got the KB835732 update and you're
having problems, this is what I did to make them go away.
1) Put the Windows 2000 Pro CD in and reboot.
2) Boot from the CD.
3) Choose Repair installation when prompted
4) Choose Repair from console
5) Enter the directory Windows2000(or whatever yours is)
\$NtUninstallKB835732$\spuninst using the 'cd' command
6) Enter the command Batch spuninst.txt
7) It may say access denied and that files are being
copied.
8) When it's finished, reboot, and allow Windows to load.
9) Uninstall the update (for good!) from Add/Remove
Programs in the Control Panel.
