So some reason, when I run Windows update, Windows update tries to run
a program called qfinder.exe. Qfinder.exe is a program from Corel. I
have removed all versions of qfinder from my machine. I have also
removed all qfinder locations in the registry. Is there a way to
disassociate qfinder.exe from Windows update?

thanks

I did a custom un-install of various Corel products to remove the
qfinder or quick finder program. After posting this message, I went
though the registry again. I found some remnants of the QuickFinder
program. I deleted about 15 differnt registry settings. Now Windowes
update "can run" but it won't finish proprely. Nor do I have any idea
what is coming down. No details.

This looks like a compatibility issue from Corel's side, I would contact
them about support under Windows Vista, updates, patches.

Hummm...are we starting to see a pattern here? Vista b5365 and IE 7b2
both have broken Adobe updater that worked in previous IE 7b's and Vista
builds.

So its an issue with their update plugin's and IE 7, they need to update it
to support IE 7.
As I said, it did work in IE 7 b1 and previous builds of Vista. Build
5365 is the first build I've used from 4 on that it has been broken.
Whose to blame?

This is expected since its still beta, you never know, it might be working
again in BETA 2. Also note that 5365 is an interim release not a CTP so it
does not provide the same level of stability and compatibility.

We've still got a loooooong ways to go Andre.
