I am unable to get the Update Device Driver Wizard in
Windows XP to do a Windows Update on a driver. I routinely
use this feature on Windows 2000, but I don't even see it
as an option on XP. So that you may know exactly what I am
referring to, here is a Knowledge Base article talking
about how to enable it for Win 95/98. KB 253791 "The
Option to Search Microsoft Windows Update Is Not Available
in Update Device Driver Wizard"
Was this feature removed from XP? I can not see why it
would be, has come in so handy in the past.

There is a dialog in the device management. In the control panel, system, hardware
tab, device manager, right-click the device you want to update, properties, driver
tab

What I am looking for though is once I am there, how do I
do a "Windows Update" on the net for that device, just
like in Win 98 and 2000? I can only get it to load drivers
that I have on the current machine, when it is supposed to
be able to query the Microsoft Update Site for the newest
and most current drivers. This this ability still exist in
XP at all?
