Update Definitions

I have the same problem, but coping these files did not
work, I still get the updater trying to install version
5731.

all is OK. I stopped auto/update manualy once a week.

Follow the below instructions:

"Right click on MSAS icon within systray and choose
shutdown.

Right click and "Save target as..."

files, click Yes, and will download each file.

[as I believe the problem or BUG seams to be with these
three original files downloaded]

Restart MSAS and "check for updates"
Done until MS realize that this is a bug.............."

resulven el problema del update de Microsoft AntiSpyware.

El error que presenta la actualización de las
definiciones de Microsoft AntiSpyware en la versión
1.0.614 Beta, es que cada vez que se ejecuta en la
pantalla general "File, Check for Updates" parece que se
está descargando las ultimas definiciones, desde la 5725
a 5733, en mi caso, pero luego si volvemos a bajar las
definiciones vuelve a parecer lo mismo, descargando las
definiciones desde la 5725 a la 5733, este error se
corrige del siguiente modo:
Primero cerramos el programa Microsoft AntiSpyware
haciendo clic con el botón derecho del ratón en el icono
del programa en la barra de tareas y con botón izquierdo
en "Shutdown".

Luego en la barra de dirección del explorador copiamos
una a una las siguientes direcciones:

http://download.spynet.com/ASDefinitions/gcThreatAuditThre

Cada vez que copiemos una de estas direcciones,
inmediatamente nos solicitará la ejecución o guardar el
archivo, haremos clic en guardar, y lo guardaremos en la
carpeta de Microsoft AntiSpyware en "C\: Archivos de
programa \ Microsoft AntiSpyware", y nos solicitará que
sustituyamos un archivo de la carpeta por el que hemos
descargado, lo que aceptaremos.

Una vez descargados y guardados dichos archivos, abrimos
el antispyware y en la pantalla general hacemos clic
en "File/Check for updates" y observaremos que nos indica
que está instalada las últimas definiciones, lo cual es
señal inequívoca de que están instaladas las últimas
definiciones. Así queda resuelto este problema, solución
que encontré en el foro:
