Update definitions

How come every time I run update definitions it says that
it is updating from 5683 to 5699. Is there a bad patch
out there that won't allow it to update from 5683 to 5699?
 
There is some information glitch I have noticed personally where the
incorrect definition is not synced up properly.
Spyware definitions are files that contain specific signature information
that enables Windows AntiSpyware to detect and help protect you against
spyware and adware. The Windows AntiSpyware definition library is regularly
updated because new threats are identified. There are two methods that you
can use to determine the version of the Windows AntiSpyware definition
library, depending on your level of expertise.
