While installing updates, windows crashed. Not the PC
keeps rebootin and rebooting. Need to try and not loose
this one by reformatting. Any ideas?

I have encountered the very same problem.
I have tried Fixboot and Fixmbr in recovery console, done
last known good configuration, I have tried the repair
process, I still have a looping reboot.

The pc will POST, loading windows 2k progress bar appears,
then the w2k pro splash screen appears with its progress
bar and once it gets to the end, click! reboots again.

I can't get into safe mode at all.

Is there a way to fix this?? I have tried what I know.
I can slave it and save the data, but I don't want to have
to re-install everything, besides, this is the update's
fault.

The only way to access C is thru the recovery console
using the 4 boot diskettes and running RC off the cd.

Any and all help will be greatly appreciated!

Thank you,

Hi,
I had the same problem,as you mentioned I tried every
thing including http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=310396.
no success. However, I was able Logon to the sytem with
the repair option.I succeed twice.use the windows pro boot
disks(4). don't try the console or ERD options. The
problem is most of my programs are not working . But the
data is there. still i am trying to solve this problem.
Good luck

this is where I'm at. I'm trying these articles. In
recovery console check your boot.ini and see what it looks
like. It should be in C:\windows then type MAP ARC. if it
looks like somthing it should't check out the articles
below.
