Same here!

The most important change for me is that now Copernic integrates
OpenOffice in the search - this was already possible through manual
changes in the preferences - but now also allows previewing OOo docs.

Regards from John Corliss
I don't reply to trolls and other such idiots. No adware, cdware,
commercial software, crippleware, demoware, nagware, PROmotionware,
shareware, spyware, time-limited software, trialware, viruses or warez
please.

How well does this work in real life?

Is it like the $$$ware Sleuthhound?

I have no idea what Sleuthhound does.

I recommended DocYouMeant Hound because as a participant in real life
I found it superior to other offerings. I assume it will do as well
wherever you are.

I run Copernic, Yahoo and Google Desktop Search simultaneously. I
think my copy of Copernic may be going very soon.

Although Copernic was one of the earlier search companies and should
have a lot of experience, I feel its desktop search product is not as
good as something like Yahoo Desktop Search.

The mainly advantages of Google Desktop Search for me are:

- web interface (read: tabbed browsing and all Firefox features)
- index visited web pages and Gmail e-mails

Yes, I too like Google. It is well behaved when it runs and has a
familiar interface.

However I feel it maintains too many old or broken links for my
liking. I also find that in the end Google DS doesn't seem to
find as much on my PC as Yahoo DS does.

Also, a very honorable acknowledgement must go to Janne Huttunan's
very nice search program Locate (or Locate32 if you prefer) for
indexing file and folder names only. But a black mark also goes
to it for no help text.

John,

Your link points to their WEB search program choices. Two different
programs. There is no pro version of their desk top search program.
And if I may add, unlike google, etc, it works with 98SE and up.
