CCleaner (Crap Cleaner) v1.17


Overview :

CCleaner (Crap Cleaner) is a freeware system optimisation tool. That
removes unused and temporary files from your system - allowing it to
run faster, more efficiently and giving you more hard disk space. The
best part is that it's fast! (normally taking less that a second to
run) and Free. :) Cleans the following: Internet Explorer Cache,
History, Cookies, Index.dat. Recycle Bin, Temporary files and Log
files. Recently opened URLs and files. Third-party application temp
files and recent file lists (MRUs). Including: Media Player, eMule,
Kazaa, Google Toolbar, Netscape, Office XP, Nero, Adobe Acrobat,
WinRAR, WinAce and more... Advanced Registry scanner and cleaner to
remove unused and old entries. Including File Extensions, ActiveX
Controls, ClassIDs, ProgIDs, Uninstallers, Shared DLLs, Fonts, Help

The official release of Ccleaner v1.17 is not yet available, as per the

v1.17 will be released as soon as I get the updated Norwegian translation
The change log is currently as follows:

v1.17.xx
- Added Analyze mode to scan without deleting.
- Added Startup program list to tools menu.
- Added right-click menu to save the output log to a text file.
- Updated Firefox cleaning to remove download history.
- Updated Firefox cleaning to remove "cache.trash" folder.
- Added confirmation message box before cleaning.
- Added Danish and Traditional Chinese translations.
- Added cleaning for the following apps:
Adobe Acrobat Reader 7.0
Adobe Photoshop 6.0
Adobe Photoshop 7.0

Sounds good and I look forward to its release.. I still think
that whoever announced the premature release should have made
the above info. clear. Some users will automatically click
and download. Ok, only some 370K, no big deal, but all the
same..

I guess to me that's the newest. My version was so much olderer. I
hadn't even looked at the version number. I will have to go back to the
site and see what's so much better in 1.17. Hopefully the "new and
improved" don't become more bells and whistles.

I'll probably wait and see. The old version did as much as I
expected. I am the only user on this machine and no one else could
care less about my previous use. I did appreciate the extra FF cookie
cleaning in 1.16.
