I need to update my bios, but i can't get the settings
when i start my computer. It was already suggested to me
to do a system restore to an earlier point and try
again...tried it, didn't work.
I need to run it from the a: which is connected by usb.
any suggestions?

If the below web page doesn't help, post back with your system specs. We
need to know what make of computer or motherboard you have to help you.
Click on the link below, or copy and paste the link into the address box
if using the web based newsgroup.

Amy,

Whoever told you to do a system restore, to get into your bios, was way off
base. System restore repairs Windows. Bios does not have anything to do with
Windows. You enter the bios during the very early part of the boot sequence.
Look to your computer manual for instructions on how to accomplish this
task!

The info on how to update your BIOS should be in the manual you got with yor
computer, or the manual that came with your motherboard.

The usual procedure is to boot with a DOS boot disk that does not have any
memory managers on it and to run the flash utility from there.
