Upade interfering with hardware.

Recently I installed the "Hercules multimedia software
update released on August 13 2002" and immediatly my
Hercules Game Theater XP sound system STOPPED working.
Since then I have tried to track down the update, but
have been unsuccessful. Does anyone have any advice to
deal with this issue?
 
Have you tried to go into device manager and roll back the driver for your
graphics card?
