Running Outlook 2002 on XP Pro. Did something that caused
a tool bar to appear right above my column headings and
below the standard toolbars. It appears in all the
different folders. It is a dark grey toolbar that includes
Back arrows; the name of the current folder (with a drop
down to select another folder) ; an Address field; a Go
button, and a greyed out X. When you right click on the
toolbar, nothing happens. There are no handles to grab.
Undertool bars only standard is checked.

How do I get rid of this toolbar.
Thanks in advance.

Sounds like the WEB bar.

Try right clicking on the toolbar
Remove the check mark next to WEB by clicking
on it.

Right clicking on it does not do anything. The web toolbar
is not checked. It does look like a web tool bar.
Any other suggestions?

Seach for a file on your machine called OUTCMD.DAT
(be sure to search in HIDDEN files)

Try renaming outcmd.dat (with Outlook closed). This should
clear the toolbars if they are corrupt.

Close Outlook
Search your hard drive for a file called (be sure to check for
hidden files if that is an option):
outcmd.dat
Rename it to:
outcmd.old
Then start Outlook

Outlook will create a new outcmd.dat file (hopefully without
the corruption) when you open it.
