My Laptop has developed this really annoying habit of shutting down about
15mins after you stop using it even if it's runnig an installation or
something. I have changed every power setting I can find to try and prevent
this, to no avail. Any suggestions?

Check the air vents. Get a can of compressed and GENTLY blow air into
them when the pc is off and hopefully that will solve it. Todays pc's
run warm and laptops can run downright HOT! Combine that with the
technology to shut dthe pc down when the temp exceeds what the cpu
maker thinks is too hot and the small often clogged vents in laptops
and I think you have your problem.

Hi
Cheers for the suggestion. The only thing is it never switches off while I
am using it. Only if I leave it sitting. Does this not make the overheating
unlikely?
