continue to pop-up out of nowhere can you please email me
and let me know how to get rid of them bc they are very
annoying. Thank you very much

Mike;
No need to pay for the fix.
For Messenger Service ads:
You need to install or enable a firewall:
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=330904
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/pro/using/howto/communicate/stopspam.asp
Disabling Messenger Service can be a good idea, but it does not solve
the real problem.
The ads are not the real problem, the ads are only a symptom.
The real problem is open ports that allow unwanted traffic into the
computer.
Disabling Messenger does nothing for the open ports.
The firewall controls the traffic.

Internet Connection Firewall will not work if you have AOL.
AOL is not compatible with Windows XP Internet Connection Firewall
(ICF)
If you have AOL, you should contact AOL and/or get a 3rd party
firewall.

Disable Messenger Service:
Start/Control Panel, click Administrative Tools, click Services.
Go down to "Messenger".
Right click "Messenger" and select Properties.
Then under Start-up select DISABLE
Click OK and follow prompts

Check this link:

Run Ad-Aware (free version) or Spybot to check for spyware:

Or
http://spybot.eon.net.au/

For internet pop-ups, try one of these:

You have inadvertently downloaded an interstitial ad
program onto your hard drive by just clicking somewhere
on a web page that has this delightful little gift for
you. Go to control panel and try to find a strange
program, when you try to uninstall it, it will 'beg' you
twice to keep it. Then it says it is uninstalled. There
is another file in there that it hides. It tells you
where this is. To begin all this process I had to do a
google search for 'interstitial' and found a site that
makes you download a program to remove the boogers.
Since you're already screwed, might as well try it.
I suggest backing up all the things you want to save,
then getting Disc Sanitizer Pro, or some other hard drive
wipe program, wiping your hard drive and reinstalling
everything.
Besides Ad Aware and Spybot, another solution may be
one I heard tonight, go to Kazaa.com and download a
program in their software that's something like
Information wipe or something like that that will take
care of internet security fairly well. I haven't tried
it yet. Good luck. Watch those strange web sites.
