unwanted page break

I am using office 2007 home. I was typing a document using outline format.
Suddenly I noticed that I seemed to have added a page. I looked at my
introduction and it skipped to the next page which I started the first level
of my outline. It seems that I have a page break but I cannot delete it. I
even checked my margin on first page and it is ok. The other pages seem to
work ok
how do I get rid of a page break or what is my problem.

Did you investigate "Keep with Next" and "Keep Lines Together" and
even "Page Break Before" (on the second tab of Home > Paragraph >
Format paragraph)? They should all be unchecked.

If your outline is created using Word's built-in heading styles, then note
that they are all by default formatted as "Keep with next," so they will
keep daisy-chaining together, forcing a page break when a page is full,
until such time as a paragraph intervenes that is NOT formatted as KWN, at
which point Word will insert a soft page break to allow the following
headings to stay together.

To avoid this, if your outline is to be composed only of headings, remove
the "Keep with next" formatting from the style definition of all but the top
couple of levels. If you will eventually be adding body text below the
headings, then just grin and bear it for the time being.

Or select the entire text (Ctrl-A) and uncheck the offending
parameters.

But note Suzanne's comment on how outlines work.

that worked, thanks
